Turtle Wing Foundation wishes you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

As the 2022 year comes to a close, Turtle Wing wants to express our continued gratitude for our communities that we serve, as without them, we would not be able to do what we do!

The generosity of the small towns in rural Texas continues to amaze us, as well as all of the nonprofits in the area, and gives us the momentum and support that we need to continue our missions.

Turtle Wing Foundation continues to grow by leaps and bounds, and this past year was no different. Because of our amazing supporters, in just the 2021-2022 fiscal year alone, we were able to fund services and programs for over 245 individuals. There were 388 active families and just under 900 families in our parent support network.

What did those direct services look like? They included over 1,500 sessions of therapy, over 500 sessions of tutoring, over 250 sessions of social skills work, and hundreds more hours of day hab, inclusive dance, family outings, and more! Plus, we continue to provide emotional and education support to families, while also helping our local daycares and teaching staff better understand those with learning challenges, and help them “grow wings and fly”! Can you believe that this is all happening within our rural area?

Turtle Wing strives to create a culture of acceptance within the communities that we serve, while also creating more opportunities for those with learning challenges. Most recently, we have made new partnerships with other local organizations (such as Arts for Rural Texas and the Fayette County Community Theatre), and started some new programs (Ninja Turtles, which is an inclusive taekwondo class, and an afterschool art program for Turtle Wing kids), with more starting in the Spring (reach out for more info on these programs & others)!

Turtle Wing Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization which helps individuals with academic, social-emotional, behavioral and/or developmental needs. Their service area includes Colorado, Fayette, Lavaca and surrounding counties. Turtle Wing provides Early Intervention, Supplemental Services, and Community Education & Advocacy to the rural area.

It is with our sincerest gratitude, that we want to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Turtle Wing Foundation!
