Year-end giving is a great opportunity for nonprofits to meet their fundraising goals. Approximately 31% of all annual giving occurs in December and approximately 12% of all annual giving occurs in the last three days of December. 28% of nonprofits raise between 26 – 50% of their annual funds for their year-end ask (https://donorbox.org/nonprofit-blog/year-end-giving). Turtle Wing has been providing Early Intervention, Supplemental Services and Community Education & Advocacy programming to children and families from Colorado, Fayette, Lavaca and surrounding counties with academic, social-emotional, behavioral and/or developmental needs since 2012. Last year 379 children received direct services with thousands more benefiting indirectly through education and advocacy work. Community members are asked to consider their ability to support the good works of non-profits in our area, whether it be Turtle Wing or any of the dozens others we are blessed to have feeding, educating, counseling, and supporting with the most essential needs in our rural area. Giving may be done very easily on-line, with most non-profits having both Facebook pages and websites where donating is as simple as a click and a credit card away. To learn more about Turtle Wing Foundation or support their mission of “helping children with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential,” visit www.turtlewingfoundation.org, go to @turtlewingfoundation on Facebook or contact Managing Director, Susie Shank, at 979-505-5090. If a financial donation is not possible at this time, volunteers are always being sought and the community’s prayers and sharing of the foundation’s services to those who may be in need is also appreciated.
