Turtle Wing Foundation will again be partnering with Schulenburg/Weimar Area Parents as Teachers to provide quality training for early childhood educators, daycare providers, their staff, and all parents of young children. The next training will be on Thursday, September 19 from 6-8 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church hall in Columbus (201 Veteran’s Drive). The presenter is Vickie Maertz. Dr. Maertz is the founder of Physical and Academic Learning Services (PALS). She is an occupational therapist who specializes in the field of sensory integration. Self-regulation is a different sort of skill. It allows kids to manage their emotions, behavior and body movement when they’re faced with a situation that’s tough to handle. It allows them to do that while still staying focused and paying attention. Self-regulation isn’t the same thing as self-control. Often kids with ADHD and sensory processing issues struggle with self-regulation. This training is open to anyone interested, but an RSVP is requested to help with planning the meal that will be provided. To RSVP call 979-505-5090 or e-mail susie@turtlewingfoundation.org. Two workshop hours will be provided for those needing continuing education for their workplace. To learn more about PAT visit their website at www.sw-pat.org. annual campaigns
The month of April is the Make our Match Campaign. For every dollar we raise during this time frame, Chuck Brown Ford will match that amount up to $5000. This campaign was started in 2018 and has been a huge success.
We want to thank Chuck Brown Ford for all their support and to everyone that donates to the make or match campaign.
