Turtle Wing and PAT to offer Early Childhood Workshop on Child Activities Pertaining to Science

Turtle Wing Foundation will again be partnering with Schulenburg/Weimar Area Parents as Teachers to provide quality training for early childhood educators, daycare providers, their staff, and all parents of young children. The next training will be on Tuesday, January 14 from 6-8 PM at the Weimar First United Methodist Church. The PAT Educators will be presenting information on how science experiences support all domains of development, information on how children progress through levels of thinking in their attempts to understand new experiences, and how to select material and create a setting that supports exploration experimentation. This will involve stations incorporating magnets, water play, fun with nature, chemistry in the kitchen, and ramp rolling.  This training is open to anyone interested, but an RSVP is requested to help with planning the meal that will be provided. To RSVP call Phyllis Venghaus at 979-743-6060 or e-mail phyllis@sw-pat.org. Two workshop hours will be provided for those needing continuing education for their workplace.
