St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger Donates $13,000 to Turtle Wing Foundation

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger has donated $13,000 to the Turtle Wing Foundation in Schulenburg, representing 10% of the proceeds raised from its annual bazaar held the fourth Sunday in August. The funds will support the foundation’s mission to assist children with learning challenges and their families.

The Very Reverend Steven J. Sauser, pastor of St. Mary’s, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Our parishioners’ generosity makes this possible. It’s a way of living our faith by helping those in need and we’re proud to help an organization that is doing such meaningful work.”

Destiny Siptak, Turtle Wing Foundation Executive Director, thanked the church for its generosity, saying, “We are deeply grateful to St. Mary Catholic Church for their incredible support. This donation will help us continue providing vital services to children with learning challenges.”

The bazaar, a highlight of the year for Ellinger, included live music, games, food, and online and live auctions. Next year will mark the 75th anniversary of the event, with the 75th Annual Bazaar scheduled for August 24, 2025.
