Another Year, Another Successful Sensory Santa!

Turtle Wing and And Then A New Day partnered up to create a fun, inclusive Santa experience for children with special needs. And Then A New Day staff and young adults organize the event by preparing the set up, carefully crafting sensory activities, and being team leaders throughout the day to make sure that everyone is comfortable and has everything they need to have their special visit with Santa.

Each student had time to take a group and individual photo (by Sandy Kusy and A Thousand Words Photography) with Santa (portrayed by Lew Edwards) in a tailored environment to accommodate the sensory needs of students. Visuals of the process were available, essential oils, a calm, quiet environment, and patient staff all helped make the event a success for students. After the students were finished with their Santa experience, they were able to participate in fun activities such as building a snowman, creating a sensory tree, coloring sheets, and more. Kids left with a sweet treat! 25 kids and 3 different life skill or special education groups attended the special event! See you next year! And Then is proud to host this event with the help of Turtle Wing's support and underwriting.
