Monster Dash Time Line

It’s time to break out your costume ideas and welcome Fall family fun with the 8th Annual Turtle Wing Foundation Monster Dash. This year it will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, with activities happening at Jack & Mary’s (610 Lyons Ave., Schulenburg) or on Anderson Street just south of their yard. There is no charge for any of the fun! Costume Contest, Halloween Themed Bake-Off, and the Dash itself are all free of charge!

Monster Dash Timeline:  

4:00 PM          Check-in baked goods for Bake-Off inside of Jack & Mary's

4:30 PM          Check-in Boo Around the Block (set up well spaced on Anderson Street)

Bake-off judging begins. 

5:00 PM          All other fun begins!  Music starts, Happy Camper opens concessions, Bake

off winners announced and taken to silent auction, Silent Auction bidding opens

Costume Contest check-in begins, and Boo Around the Block opens!

6:00 PM          Monster Dash race event starts in heats broken down by age, Boo Around the

Block closes as well as Costume contest entries.

6:30 PM          On Pointe kiddos to treat us to some Spooktacular Halloween dances.

6:45 PM          Costume contest and silent auction winners announced. 

It would be great if businesses, families and clubs who want to set up for Boo Around the Block would pre-register. To do so contact Becca Edmiston at (979)732-1710 or there are forms at the Turtle Wing office (723 Upton Ave., Schulenburg). Turtle Wing Foundation mission is to help children with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential. Program participants all have academic, social-emotional, behavioral and/or developmental needs. Turtle Wing’s three programming areas are Early Intervention, Supplemental Services, and Community Education & Advocacy.
