Moulton ISD Student CouncilDonates to Turtle Wing Foundation

Turtle Wing Foundation was honored to be picked once again as the organization to benefit from the Moulton ISD Student Council’s Game Night. To help raise funds to support Turtle Wing’s mission of “helping individuals with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential” in their local community, the students hosted an evening of old-fashioned fun for the students and respite for the parents. Elementary students were invited to play a wide variety of games with each other and the StuCo representatives. This evening was organized by student leaders Emma Buehring and Angeles Juarez, along with fellow Stuco representatives. There was a small admission fee and concession stand, allowing the MISD StuCo to raise and donate $415 to Turtle Wing. They hope to continue partnering with the foundation to learn more about how they can support their fellow MISD students who have learning challenges. Turtle Wing appreciates the students’ and staffs’ efforts and hopes to continue growing the numbers of Lavaca County families impacted by doing more community outreach and education in the area to encourage families to join the Turtle Wing Parent Support Network or volunteer. Turtle Wing’s service area includes Colorado, Fayette, Lavaca and surrounding counties. Turtle Wing Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization which helps children with academic, social-emotional, behavioral and/or developmental needs. Many still believe it is just for children with autism, but it is much more!
