Turtle Wing Foundation will again be partnering with Schulenburg/Weimar Area Parents as Teachers to provide continuing education training for staff of day care centers, preschools and the parents of children who attend their facilities or schools. The next training will be held on Monday, January 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Weimar. There is no fee charged to attend, though an RSVP is requested to assist with meal planning. 2.0 Workshop Hours are offered to those needing them for certification. Topics to be covered will include social emotional which is a child's ability to understand the feelings of others, control his or her own feelings and behaviors, get along with other children, and build relationships with adults. Additionally gross motor skills will be incorporated which are the abilities that involve the large muscles of the arms, legs and torso. Activities will be workshopped that team up those two developmental areas. Finally, self- care of the caretaker will be touched upon.
