Turtle Wing Foundation will again be partnering with Schulenburg/Weimar Area Parents as Teachers to provide continuing education training for staff of day care centers, preschools and the parents of children who attend their facilities or schools. The next training will be held on Monday, March 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Weimar. The topic is Decreasing Problem Behavior by Increasing Social Communication Skills. There is no fee charged to attend, though an RSVP is requested to assist with meal planning. 2.0 Workshop Hours are offered to those needing them for certification. Participants will learn strategies to identify why problem behaviors occur and on how to intervene and respond differently in the natural learn and play environment. Tips will focus on teaching replacement verbal and nonverbal communication skills as behaviors occur. Additional topics will include ways to identify motivators, ways to prompt, and hands on practice. The workshop will be facilitated by Renee Absher (MED/BCBA) and Jacklyn Ramirez (BS/Behavior Tech) who are staff at Hatch, a learning habitat and consulting firm, in Weimar. To RSVP please contact Susie Shank at 979-505-5090 or email susie@turtlewingfoundation.org. To learn more about PAT visit their website at www.sw-pat.org. annual campaigns
The month of April is the Make our Match Campaign. For every dollar we raise during this time frame, Chuck Brown Ford will match that amount up to $5000. This campaign was started in 2018 and has been a huge success.
We want to thank Chuck Brown Ford for all their support and to everyone that donates to the make or match campaign.
